We love going to the Art Museum and we always hit up the modern art first my girls (and I ) Love Modern art and enjoy looking at all the neat sculptures and fun crazy art. After that we start going through each level of the museum and try to get in as much as we can. Sometimes we see the whole museum sometimes we just is a small part of it. Either way it is fun and we learn so much.
I have some fun games and ways that I like to use to make Art Museums fun for kids (and adults). We have this AWESOME Art Matching game Art Ditto! I like to use the rectangle cards (if we are only going to be there a short time) or the matching cards for a longer game. We each pick out the works of art we are going to look for. Then once we get there the first person to find all their Masterpieces wins. :) Fun, and gets the girls really checking out the art work.
The game Art Ditto is wonderful I love it so much! If you are looking for a neat matching game that is nothing like the regular memory games then check out Bird Cage Press and all their wonderful Art games.
Play
memory games with great works of art and collect your favorites on art
collecting cards. As you play, you'll learn how different artists depict
birds, boats, cats, flowers, horses, and more. And you'll learn words
in four languages as you have fun with great art!
Take a Card with you or punch holes in the square matching cards attach them to a binder clip and use them to search the art museum for the Paintings. Reward your kids after a fun day at the art museum with a treat from the gift shop or if they have a food court. Ours has a food court and Old Fashioned Ice Cream shop. Since the Museum is free we can afford a little treat afterwards.
