The Best Kid In the World
About the Book:
When SugarLoaf discovers that her parents once bestowed the Best Kid in the World Award on her brother, her first thought is:
But...
but...
but what about me?
She wants to be the Best Kid in the World, so she decides to be so very helpful that her parents can't not
give the award to her. However, every one of SugarLoaf's good deeds
ends in disaster, and it seems that the award is farther away from her
grasp than ever. But what she doesn't realize is that trying counts for a
lot, so she might have a better chance at taking the Best Kid in the
World throne than she imagines.
My Very Big Little World
About the Book:
SugarLoaf, a precocious kittenlike child (or childlike kitten), eagerly
introduces readers to her family. Her world is one that listeners will
recognize as she shares with them what she considers to be important:
how she got her name, where she falls in the family order, her favorite
color, her parents' occupations, etc. Her running monologue is
reminiscent of many children's egocentric conversational style and
allows Reynolds to throw in a handful of lines that will tickle the
funny bone of both young and adult readers.
Our Thoughts:
We love SugarLoaf she is such a sweet little character. One that you will see some of your own little ones in. SugarLoaf books are delightful books for read alouds, storytime and bedtime. Grab a copy of the SugarLoaf books and they will sure to become fast favorites.
