 Woodrow for President: A Tail of Voting, Campaigns, and Elections

Woodrow G. Washingtail was the governor of Moussouri. Now he is running for president of the United Mice of America! After working hard in school (and registering to vote at age 18!), Woodrow began his life of public service. He started as a volunteer in his community, then ran for town council, then mayor and then statewide office. Now he is in the race of his career, as he campaigns, debates, makes speeches, and meets the voters. Will he win the primaries? Will he win on Election Day? Will he become the nation’s “Big Cheese”? my thoughts:

I love this book! This book is the teacher or mom's answer to explaining the election and what the president does to young children. This book is a fun book for story time and read aloud. The illustrations are bright and cheery. Engaging pictures that are full of detail are sure to captivate even the youngest of listeners.  This  is a great educational book that makes learning fun. The rhyming text makes it great for listeners and readers.  I love when we find a book that makes teaching a hard subject fun. Imagine teaching: American History, the electoral process, and what the president does to young children. Those are some hard subjects even for older kids (and adults) so finding a goldmine of a book makes these subject so much fun. You could develop a whole lesson plan around this book. So grab Woodrow for President by Peter and Cheryl Barnes this is one you will want in your home and/or school library!

 This book would make a great gift for your child's teacher since the election is just months away!
